New Buy Now Pay Later Feature in Microsoft Edge

Are you aware of the new Buy Now Pay Later feature introduced by Microsoft edge? If not, then you’re in luck. This article is going to give you all the details about it. The feature was introduced by Microsoft edge late last year and has been working in the US only since its inception.

Microsoft delivered its new edge program fuelled by an open-source Chromium motor. This precedes the custom Microsoft-made motor found in the first form and Internet explorer. The program has been received quite well and it includes a lot of supportive highlights. However, not all of the Microsoft programs have been winners. Buy Now Pay Later however allows shoppers to purchase items and pay for them later in equal installments. When using BNPL users can have a product before it’s fully paid for. They also have the option to pay for it later in 4 equal installments.

Microsoft added that the feature will be available on Microsoft edge and will be supported by an outsider organization called Zip.Zip which was previously known as Quad pay will permit one to separate installments for orders between $35-$1000. There will be no interest charges, especially when the potion is paid on schedule.

Applying to the BNPL takes some time and one will need to sign in each time to access the feature. However, if you are using Microsoft edge the process might be simpler for you. Simply link your Microsoft account and Zip account and you’re good to go. No more waiting and signing in each time you want to access the feature.

  6. Account balances can always be viewed by logging into ones Zip account.
  7. In case of a return one will be required to read Zips policy on Returns.
  8. Only purchases between $35-$1000 made through microsoft edge can be split into 4 installments over 6 weeks.
  9. Zip is not functional with school and work accounts.

Although it is an exciting, new, and innovative feature, BNPL has received a lot of backlash. Some people are referring to it as a predatory move by Microsoft. Why you might ask? Because it encourages one to overspend. It is also seen as a way to make people be in debt as they will misuse their money on unimportant things. Also, payments are incurred when one fails to meet the due dates for paying the loan.

The new feature has also been seen as a monetization strategy by the company. This has not been taken kindly by the tech critiques.

Despite all this backlash, Microsoft has placed a support system where you could ask questions about the feature. There is no need to be discouraged by the opinion of others. You could also use the feature and give feedback on your experience with BNPL.
