Until recently, I was one of the people suffering from disappearing enemy nameplates in World of Warcraft since the 4.0.1 patch. Fortunately, I was able to find a fix. Copy and paste the following commands in your chat window:

/console bloattest 1
/console spreadnameplates 0
/console bloatnameplates 1
/console bloatthreat 1
