Gallente Industrial NereusNot long ago, Gevlon Goblin posted a great guide on hauling with industrial ships. He focuses on using Deep Space Transports (DSTs) to move high-end cargo. Although this is most certainly the preferred way to go, it may take some time (approximately 30 days) for young haulers to skill into Transport Ships.

For those just getting started, the fit below is a good place to start. Even with all skills set to 0, this hauler has just under 5k of cargo space and can warp at over 7 AU per second (for reference, frigates warp at 5 AU/s). With somewhere between 8.6k and 10.7k of EHP against hybrid weapons (those used by ganking Catalysts), the goal is not to withstand an onslaught of gankers. The goal is to evade and outrun. That being said, there is enough tank here to withstand the solo ganker looking to make your life miserable.

Improved Cloaking Device IIThe most difficult thing to train for in this fit is the Improved Cloaking Device II. It requires CPU Management 4 and Cloaking 3. This module is necessary in order to use the MWD/Cloak Trick.

The Core Probe Launcher, on the other hand, really isn’t necessary unless you want to try to use wormholes to move your cargo (or if you just live in a wormhole).
