Christmas Comes Early

I decided that I’d spend a little time in-game and get something different for my wife. She’s new to World of Warcraft, and I thought something out of the ordinary would be neat for her.

I hit the Ol’ Wetlands Trail and began grinding red dragon whelps in hopes of finding a [Tiny Crimson Whelpling]. It took me about 3 hours and all but one stack of bullets to finally get the little bugger. If you aren’t aware, all whelplings have a 1 in 1000 chance of dropping. Naturally, this can take a REALLY long time, if you are unlucky. I consider 3 hours to be fantastic.

When I gave the wife her whelpling wrapped in [Blue Ribboned Wrapping Paper], I told her that she could either keep it and have it follow her around as a relatively rare non-combat pet, or sell it on the Auction House. She thought the whelpling was pretty neat until I explained just how much folks would be willing to spend for such a difficult to acquire item.

Naturally, she made the right choice and sold it!
