After finishing most of the non-instance Azeroth content, Gullinbursti and I have been hard at work on the Outland content. So far, we’ve completed all the quests in Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh. We’ve also run each of the instances in those two zones at least once.

All this hardwork has led to something unexpected. Last night, we became Exalted with the four original Horde factions!

Does this really mean anything? No!

Will we be buying a huge fast kodo mount? Yes!

Gilthares Firebough has been locked in Northwatch Hold for quite a while. There’s a really good reason for this: No one in Ratchet wants him back! Like a fool, I accepted his quest (Free From the Hold) and suffered the displeasure of his company.

This guy walks as slow as he possibly can. As far as I can tell, this is not the result of any injury. He’s like John Travolta in Staying Alive — “I’m gonna strut.” (He even dresses like Tony Manero!)

As if crawling along with this guy isn’t bad enough, he goes out of his way to fight every single mob between Northwatch Hold and Ratchet. These mobs are so low-level, I wasn’t even getting XP.

So, after strutting along and taking on every pirate on The Merchant Coast, he pops up with this gem:

I almost put an arrow in the base of his skull.

Novice Thaivand Can Take Helcular’s Rod And…

Well, let’s just say he can put it somewhere rather unpleasant.

Needless to say, I spent a couple of hours killing yetis in Hillsbrad Foothills in order to find Helcular’s Rod for Novice Thaivand (Helcular’s Revenge quest). As if that wasn’t bad enough, after returning the rod to him, Thaivand gave me a pat on the back, handed the rod back to me, and sent me out to do more deeds. Well, thank you very little!

Someone really needs to talk to this fellow about his people skills. I’ve quested enough to know that after killing a few hundred yetis, I should expect a little more compensation than a pat on the back. Let’s face it, the respect of Novice Thaivand won’t pay the bills.

I should have been tipped off right away just by the looks of this guy. He hangs out in a graveyard all day in a nasty, tattered robe. I should have known that he wasn’t going to pay much for this errand. Not to mention, he obviously sent a few others on the same task, because I bumped into a rogue and warlock looking for the same thing. Geez!

Unfortunately, it was late after all this yeti carnage, so I had to rest. With my luck, after sticking this rod in a few fires, Novice Thaivand will want me to raise the dead with it!
